South Dakota is the fifth least populated state in America while simultaneously being the fifth least densely populated state in the U.S. Often referred to as the “Land of Plenty”, the “Land of Infinite Variety”, and “the blizzard state”, South Dakota is home to the Mount Rushmore National Memorial which hosts over two million tourists and visitors per year. With more shoreline than Florida, rollings hills, mountains, and plains, it’s no wonder that camping is South Dakota’s favorite past time.
